In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, our office will be closed Monday, January 20th, 2024.

U.S. Military applicants must be listed as a Nurse Aide I with the Division of Health Service Regulation-Nurse Aide I Registry and must have been discharged within the past two years. Submit the following documents to the Nurse Aide II Registry for review:
Navy Hospital Corpsman
Army
Air Force
All Nurse Aide II Initial Listing applications must be submitted within 30 business days following completion of a Nurse Aide II program. If your application is not submitted within 30 business days, you will be required to retake the full Nurse Aide II program.
A Nurse Aide II listing is non-transferable (to or from North Carolina).

The Application Confirmation which serves as your official receipt will be available on the Nurse Portal profile upon successful completion of the application process. To access, select the appropriate tile under the 'Licenses/Approval to Practice/Certifications' tab on the Home screen, then select the 'Files' tab on the License Information screen.
If your email address is listed with the North Carolina Board of Nursing, you will receive a confirmation via email verifying receipt of your online application.
Upon successful completion of the online application, you may check your application status via Nurse Portal. Licensure information can be verified on the Board's website. The Board of Nursing’s electronic database serves the primary source of licensure information for nurses in North Carolina.
Nurse Aide II students must submit an application online within 30 business days following successful completion of a Nurse Aide II program.
Nursing students must submit an application online within 30 business days following successful completion of course work equivalent in content and clinical hours to that required for a Nurse Aide II.
Only the Registered Nurse-Nurse Aide II Instructor (or the officially designated person) of the Board approved North Carolina Nurse Aide II program will have access to this system. It is password protected.
The Nurse Aide II Program Completion Verification must be completed by the Registered Nurse-Nurse Aide II Instructor for students of a Nurse Aide II program or the Nursing Program Director for nursing students currently enrolled in Board of Nursing approved nursing programs.

After the submission of the students who completed the program successfully, the student may then apply online for listing as a Nurse Aide II. The student must submit the application using the same identifying information as submitted in the Nurse Aide II Program Completion Verification.

If your Nurse Aide II listing expired in the past 24 months, you are required to successfully complete the competency evaluation portion of the Nurse Aide II Program to be eligible for renewal.
If your Nurse Aide II listing expired in excess of 24 months, you are required to successfully complete a Nurse Aide II Program to be eligible for renewal.
Allow 5-7 days before your expiration date to complete this process.
Online submission of your renewal application must not be construed as automatic renewal of your listing. The North Carolina Board of Nursing must verify that you have met all the conditions for renewal before your listing is renewed.

A Registered Nurse from the same agency where the Nurse Aide II is/was employed must complete the online Employment Verification and validate that the Nurse Aide has performed nursing care activities for monetary compensation within the past 24 months for at least 8 hours under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
