This offering will provide information about the functions of the North Carolina Board of Nursing and how these functions impact the roles and responsibilities of the nurse leader (administrator, director, manager, clinical leader, supervisor, and others) and aspiring leaders in all types of nursing services and practice settings.
This 4 1/2-hour length workshop provides 5.5 CE contact hours.
Registration is required prior to attending the workshop.
The $50.00 non-refundable/non-transferable fee is required for each individual to attend the workshop.

This free offering is for all nurses in NC and is an overview of the Continuing Competence Requirements including implementation of the approved learning plan.
The purpose of this course is to provide information and clarification regarding the legal scope of practice for nurses practicing in North Carolina. This self-paced online course provides a basic understanding of nursing regulation and the parameters of practice for all levels of nursing personnel. It contrasts the scopes of the Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse and provides examples of “exceeding” one’s scope.
Handout and reference materials should be downloaded and reviewed prior to registering for the course. You may exit the course at any time and complete it at your own pace. IMPORTANT: Prior to exiting the course, note your confirmation number for future reference and access.
